None. I don’t do live events anymore. Then again, I can probably be talked into it with lots and lots of cash.
Recently, my doctor told me I should sip apple cider vinegar with my meals to help increase my stomach acid. Low stomach acid is responsible for lots of health issues, like bloating, heartburn, hair loss, weak fingernails, fatigue, and dry skin.
Drinking straight vinegar is completely out of the question. Mixing it with water is like one of the upper circles of hell, but hell just the same. The best way I’ve discovered to get it down is to mix it with a little Bloody Mary mix. Now I never have to worry about my leftover mix sitting around going bad. There just isn’t any!
In my opinion, if you have leftover Bloody Mary mix, you’re not living right. But if you do happen to find yourself in such a predicament, I’ve got lots of ideas for creative things to do with it. Some of these recipes come from www.thekitchncom. Go here to see the complete list.
Make a fancy dip – Place soft sheep or goat cheese in a glass baking dish. Cover with Bloody Mary mix and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Serve with crackers and sliced veggies like celery, bell peppers, carrot sticks, and pea pods.
Jazz up tomato soup – Saute ½ an onion in olive oil; add diced tomatoes, Bloody Mary mix and some chicken or vegetable stock. Simmer for a few minutes, blend until smooth, and serve. Garnish with some fresh lemon, black pepper, pickle juice, horseradish, or whatever you’re into.
Give your shrimp cocktail a kick – Saute a shallot and a couple of garlic cloves in olive oil. Thicken some Bloody Mary mix with tomato sauce or puree, and add to the pan. Simmer for a minute or two, then cool to room temperature before serving.
Make skewers with pieces of chicken, shrimp, or steak, alternating with chunks of onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Marinate in Bloody Mary mix before grilling. Serve with the shrimp cocktail dip above,
Freeze extra mix by pouring it in ice cube trays. Use the cubes to make an Inside Out Bloody Mary that eliminates the need for extra ice and prevents watered down drinks. Genius!
And lastly, how’s your stomach acid? Do you experience any of the issues I mentioned earlier? You might try doing what I do, and mixing up a stiff shot made with vinegar and Bloody Mary mix. Twice a day will do it, and it totally works. Of course, it’s never a bad idea to run the idea past your doctor first.
Of course, I could have underestimated you. Maybe having leftover Bloody Mary mix isn’t exactly your problem. If you’re bored with your current selection of mixes, try this on for size.
